![]() The very, very best part was that Tony knew of a pagan temple that we got to go in.by far the most amazing place ever!!! So glad we had Tony to let us sneak it in. We even had time for a sit down lunch, which was needed. I can not imagine stopping there and not walking up it. We had the extra time to walk to the top of the Tor, which was amazing. I would have loved to have gone there but was even happier spending more time in Glastonbury so it was a great choice. We would have had to rush through Glastonbury and then drive way out of the way for Avebury and then tack another hour back at least. We all ended up agreeing to skip Avebury. Prepare yourself for a long day though and there is no way to spend quality time at most of the stops, just to much for one day. ![]() ![]() We had the best day out ever! Tony was our awesome tour guide and since it was a small group I feel like we got a lot of information and opportunities that we would have missed in a larger group. I feel as though we were tricked by the description and am very disappointed the tour did't go where it promised to go, especially after hearing they knew beforehand that we weren't going to the Tor. We were happy with all of our other tours in the UK and Italy, but this one was very rushed, the guide disrespectful and the tour description incorrect. The destinations are wonderful and worth the long drive, but not if you only get less than 15 minutes at one of the most important stops on the tour. The bus was late for our pickup and no one was on site to tell us they were on their way, not even other tour guides with their company. We spent more time on the bus than we did at our destinations. Our guide repeatedly made comments about the hippies and odd folk who might be praying there, even though several religions consider this a sacred place. We saw the well and walked through a small part of the gardens, but we were rushing to see even that much. ![]() We also had less than 15 minutes at the Chalice Well, not even enough time to see the site. This would have been a deal breaker for us, as climbing the Tor was the reason we were on this tour. Why not change your description, then? They knew before the tour that we would not go there, but it is advertised in the description of this tour. We were all upset that we didn't get to walk up the Tor as stated in the tour description the tour guide said it was because a long time ago someone hurt their ankle. This trip did NOT go to Glastonbury Tor as described. Then, relax during the return journey back to London, where the tour concludes. Marvel at these huge monuments that were hauled into place thousands of years ago. Next, travel to the village of Avebury, home to charming thatched-roof cottages and some of the largest megalithic stone circles in the world. Head to Glastonbury Abbey to pay your respects to King Arthur and Queen Guinevere in their final resting places. Stroll the Chalice Well Gardens to discover the biblical legends that shroud the enclave and then break for lunch at a local restaurant (own expense). Delve into the region’s rich history with your guide and ascend to the summit of Glastonbury Tor to see landmarks such as St. ![]() Continue to the small town of Glastonbury, where King Arthur’s sword was reputedly created. You'll also have time to stroll the grounds and take photos. Look out on a landscape scattered with stone circles and burial chambers more than 5,000 years old, and hear theories surrounding the mysterious scene. Begin the tour at Salisbury Plain, home to Stonehenge. Learn about the mystifying history of Stonehenge as you listen to commentary from your guide. After hotel pickup in a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan, travel through the English countryside toward the ancient Kingdom of Wessex, to one of England’s most mysterious landmarks. ![]()
